FAQS

Common Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about Voyagers in Learning. We aim to provide clear answers to assist parents and families in making informed decisions about their child's education. Explore the details to learn more.

What age groups do you serve?

At Voyagers in Learning, we cater to students from preschool through high school. Our flexible curriculum adapts to the various developmental stages, ensuring that each child receives the attention and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.

What is your teaching philosophy?

Our teaching philosophy centers on hands-on, student-centered learning that promotes curiosity and engagement. We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in their education, allowing them to explore, create, and discover.

Is Voyagers a religious school?

Not in the traditional sense. We do not teach scripture classes or begin and end the day with prayer. However, we uphold the standards and truths taught by our Savior, Jesus Christ, and allow His influence to guide our culture. Teachers may use scripture or quotes from religious leaders to deepen understanding of a lesson, and Christ’s teachings shape our approach to management and discipline.

While His truths may not be everyone’s, all students, families, staff, and visitors are expected to uphold the standards and expectations rooted in His teachings.

What is grade looping and why do we do it?

Looping is a powerful way for teachers to truly know their students. Spending two years together allows teachers to understand individual needs and provide targeted support. Typically, odd grades focus on introducing new content, while even grades build on that foundation with additional concepts. This approach strengthens connections, ensures smoother transitions between grades, and supports continuous progress. At Voyagers, looping occurs in Preschool–Kindergarten, First–Second, Third–Fourth, and Fifth–Sixth.

Do you offer extracurricular activities?

Yes, we offer a range of extracurricular activities, including art, music, sports, and community service. These programs enhance our students’ educational experiences and help develop their social and emotional skills.

What is your Vision for Voyagers?

At Voyagers in Learning, we see a child first, recognizing each one as a child of God; rooted in faith and guided by eternal truths. Though we begin as a small and close-knit community, our vision is bold: to grow into a full preschool-twelfth grade and beyond; involving multiple communities. Known for its character-driven culture, and preparing students for the real world with courage and clarity.

How will you accomplish your Mission and Vision?

At Voyagers in Learning, we envision a dynamic learning environment where education is active, meaningful, and deeply personalized. Hands-on exploration, real-world experiences, and purposeful play. Where students question boldly, collaborate freely, discover deeply and take responsibility. From direct instruction to inquiry and experimentation; from projects and games to simulations and technology, we blend the best of every pathway to meet every learner’s needs.

Nautical Rope

We loved her so much. She was a great teacher. I had two grandkids in her classroom and one of them with a disability. She treated both my kiddos with respect and was great with my grandson who was in a wheelchair. She even came up with an idea to put wheels on his classroom chair so that he could get around easier in her classroom and not have to be in his wheelchair all day. She made learning fun for the kids and they excelled in school. I observed her several times while helping out in the classroom. She made all the kid feel important and taught each child individually because every kid learns differently and she knew what they needed to learn. My grandson still talks about her all the time and we cherish all the memories we made with her.
