Private School

Summer Enrichment

Coming Soon

This is Voyagers’ primary program, following a full school-year schedule from September through May, Monday through Thursday, with small class sizes. Beginning in first grade, students participate in enrichment classes taught by volunteers and professionals that help connect academics to real-world skills and careers.

Students follow a 45-minute learning block with a 15-minute recess, giving them regular opportunities to reset, play, and refocus. Throughout the year, students also build leadership skills by serving on committees and gain practical financial experience through earning paychecks, budgeting, paying bills, and purchasing from the school store.

Voyagers is a preschool–12th grade private school, with additional grades and classes added over time as needed. We will share our starting grade levels soon.

Voyagers’ Summer Enrichment Program is open to all ages and encourages continued lifelong learning.

Classes typically run in one-week sessions, Monday through Thursday, with three daily time slots: 9:00–10:00 a.m., 10:15–11:15 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Taught by teachers, volunteers, tradespeople, professors, and other professionals, these classes offer a wide range of experiences—from history, science, and government to movement, crafting, writing, theatre, music, cooking, and more. Each summer brings new and engaging opportunities for students to explore, create, and grow.

Program Overview

Preschool-Kindergarten

Grades 1-2

Voyagers’ Early Years Program lays the foundation for lifelong curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, students develop essential academic and social skills in an environment that balances gentle structure with creative exploration.

  • Our approach is Montessori-inspired, encouraging independence, curiosity, and meaningful choice. Learning is rooted in play and social interaction, allowing children to develop communication skills, collaboration, and emotional awareness in natural and developmentally appropriate ways.

  • Foundational literacy and mathematics skills are introduced through movement-rich activities such as songs, rhythm, and dance. Science and social studies concepts are explored through stories, books, and guided discovery, helping students make sense of the world around them.

  • Students participate in guided crafts as well as self-directed art and activities, fostering creativity, fine motor skills, and problem-solving. A strong emphasis is placed on social-emotional learning, supporting children as they learn to express emotions, build friendships, and develop confidence.

This stage is intentionally designed to spark excitement about learning while building the foundational skills students need for continued success in the upper grades.

Continuing to build upon the foundational skills through more guided instruction. Small class sizes allow teachers to tailor lessons to each child’s pace while encouraging social-emotional growth and independence.

  • Literacy & Language Development – Phonics, sight words, and early writing are taught through stories, journaling, and interactive games, giving students the tools to communicate with confidence.

  • Mathematics Foundations – Children develop number sense, patterns, and introductory geometry through manipulatives, puzzles, and real-world problem-solving.

  • Science Discovery – Exploration of the natural world through experiments, observation, and guided inquiry fosters critical thinking and curiosity.

  • Enrichment & Arts – Students rotate through art, music, movement, and early STEM challenges, ensuring exposure to creativity and innovation alongside core academics.

  • Social-Emotional Growth – Daily routines emphasize collaboration, empathy, and resilience, helping children learn to navigate relationships and self-regulation.

  • Social Media and News Discernment-Learn how to separate the truths from myths found online.

Grades 3 - 6

As students grow, Voyagers empowers them to take greater ownership of their learning through inquiry, collaboration, and applied problem-solving. The upper elementary years emphasize critical thinking, deeper academic skills, and leadership development, preparing students to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

  • Advanced Literacy & Writing – Students move into multi-paragraph essays, persuasive writing, research projects, and presentations, developing strong written and verbal communication.

  • Mathematics Expansion – Building on foundational skills, learners explore fractions, ratios, decimals, pre-algebra, and problem-solving strategies that connect to real-world applications.

  • Lab Sciences – Hands-on experiments in biology, chemistry, and physics introduce scientific methods, data collection, and analysis. Students design and test their own hypotheses.

  • History & Geography – Exploration of local, national, and global history combined with map studies and cultural projects fosters a sense of place, identity, and global awareness.

  • Social Media and News Discernment-Learn how to read laterally and wade through the misinformation to find the truth.

  • Leadership & Collaboration – Opportunities to serve as class leaders, mentors for younger peers, and group project facilitators strengthen teamwork, responsibility, and initiative.

  • Service Projects – Students design and participate in community service activities that instill civic responsibility and connect classroom learning to real-world impact.

  • Enrichment Integration – Continued access to arts, STEM, and hands-on electives ensures creativity remains central to the learning experience.

This stage focuses on equipping students with independence, resilience, and problem-solving skills—while cultivating the confidence to step into leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to their community.

Our Teaching Approach

Grades 3 - 6

At Voyagers in Learning, instruction is designed to spark curiosity and ensure every child takes an active role in their own learning journey.

  • Launch → Explore → Apply → Reflect
    Every lesson follows this cycle:

    • Launch – A real-world hook, story, or question ignites interest.

    • Explore – Students investigate through hands-on activities, inquiry, and discussion.

    • Apply – Learners demonstrate understanding through projects, experiments, writing, or presentations.

    • Reflect – Students evaluate their progress, set new goals, and share feedback.

  • Inquiry-Driven Projects & Field Experiences
Children connect learning to life through themed projects, off-campus field trips, and guest sessions with community experts. This fosters deeper understanding and builds excitement for learning beyond the classroom walls.

  • Small Group & Individual Learning
With intentionally small class sizes, teachers provide personalized instruction, ensuring every child is challenged and supported. Individual goal-setting empowers students to track their own growth and celebrate achievements.

  • Community & Collaboration
Students work together on problem-solving challenges and service projects, developing leadership, empathy, and teamwork skills that prepare them for lifelong success.

This approach balances structure with creativity, making learning purposeful, engaging, and memorable.

Family Engagement

Grades 3 - 6

At Voyagers in Learning, families are partners in the journey. We believe a strong school community thrives when parents, educators, and students work side by side.

  • Voyagers Village
Our parent community, Voyagers Village, serves as the hub for connection and support. Families are invited to share ideas, attend community events, and collaborate on projects that enrich the learning experience for all students.

  • Conferences & Communication
Regular parent–teacher conferences provide clear insight into each child’s growth, goals, and unique strengths. In addition, ongoing updates through newsletters, digital platforms, and open-door communication ensure parents always feel informed and included.

  • Volunteering & Participation
Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their talents aboard—whether helping in classrooms, leading enrichment workshops, or supporting school events. This not only builds strong bonds but models the value of service and lifelong learning for students.

By weaving families into daily and seasonal rhythms, Voyagers creates a true community of explorers, where children know they are supported both at school and at home.

We loved her so much. She was a great teacher. I had two grandkids in her classroom and one of them with a disability. She treated both my kiddos with respect and was great with my grandson who was in a wheelchair. She even came up with an idea to put wheels on his classroom chair so that he could get around easier in her classroom and not have to be in his wheelchair all day. She made learning fun for the kids and they excelled in school. I observed her several times while helping out in the classroom. She made all the kid feel important and taught each child individually because every kid learns differently and she knew what they needed to learn. My grandson still talks about her all the time and we cherish all the memories we made with her.
